Frabjous Steps is a modern take on the classic word ladder puzzle — invented by Alice in Wonderland author Lewis Carroll, who called them "word doublets."
Transform one word into another by changing a single letter at a time, where every step is a real word. Click › for a quick walkthrough.
Connect CAT (top) to JOB (bottom) by changing one letter at a time. Click › and watch!
CAT → CAR: one letter changed from the top word, so CAR joins the stack just below CAT.
CAR → CAD: another single-letter change. The chain keeps growing downward.
JAB → JOB: JAB is one letter from JOB, so it joins the bottom stack, just above JOB.
See the ✕ on the last two words added? It lets you remove a word to try a different path.
CAD was a dead end, so we delete it with its ✕ button.
JAR links CAR (above) to JAB (below) — one letter from each — completing the chain!
Nicely done — but that took an extra step. Can you do better?
